Academic Leaders
Join a network of chiefs, chairs, and leaders in Academic Hospital Medicine practice who understand the difficulty and demands of balancing the tripartite mission of clinical, educational, and scholarly activities and chronicles of two managers: academic and clinical operations. We look forward to networking and achieving the mission-vision through concrete, collaborative, and creative ways.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Partner with fellow hospitalists who are passionate about promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the field of hospital medicine. Working together we will improve other aspects of practice, including patient care, education, research, quality improvement, and professional development.
Ethics
Serves as a resource for discussion, coaching, and mentorship on common and challenging ethical concerns that hospitalists face. This SIG also supports SHM members in collaborating on ethics scholarship, quality improvement projects, and presentations that address ethics in clinical care, education, and policy.
Family Medicine
Network, learn, discuss training, share best practices and challenges, and discuss trends related to hospitalists trained in family medicine.
Global Hospital Medicine
Engage in conversations, networking, expertise, and resource sharing on the topics of global health and human rights work among hospitalists. This space is also a place for those practicing hospital medicine outside of North America to share issues and ideas. This SIG aims to build long-term collaborations in the US and abroad.
Healthcare Information Technology
Share resources and ideas with regard to all aspects of healthcare information technology related to patient care.
Hospital at Home
The Hospital at Home SIG will provide a forum for hospitalists to share best practices, collaborate on projects, and convene with like-minded providers passionate about the care of complex and often underserved patients in an innovative way.

Hospital Medicine Disaster Preparedness and Management
Connect with members looking to build a coalition of individuals to help address the role and challenges of hospital medicine in disaster preparedness and management at both a local and national level.
Hospital Medicine Fellowships
This centralized community serves to connect members both interested and/or involved in a mosaic of fellowships across hospital medicine. The aim is to create a networking collaborative that socializes current curricular requirements and opportunities, provides resources for individuals or hospitals looking to start a fellowship or fellowship program, serve as a sounding board for ideas, and socializes the need for fellowship programs.
Hospital Medicine Innovation & Entrepreneurship
The HM I&E SIG is a community of hospitalist innovators and entrepreneurs who are engaging in translational evidence-based entrepreneurship to accelerate changing ideas to products and services that help patients through the commercialization process. Connect with like-minded individuals to network and find solutions to the valley of death, and join teams of clinicians and engineers to meet our patients' needs. The iCorps, Lean Launchpad, Hacking for X, Business Model Canvas, Customer Discovery, and prior experience will be our shared tools.
Hospitalist Well-Being
Well-being is essential to finding professional fulfillment, maintaining a sustainable hospital medicine group, and creating a supportive and high-functioning culture for hospitalists. Connect with this group to learn and share about how individuals and groups can take a holistic approach to well-being, to discover resources designed for hospital leaders and well-being advocates who seek to build structures and cultures that promote well-being, and to grow a national network of hospitalist colleagues in well-being.
Interdisciplinary Rounding
Network with hospitalists who share an interest in the initiation and maintenance of interdisciplinary rounding (IR) while gaining expertise through structured discussions around implementation strategies, sustainability efforts, and evaluation methods of IR.
Interhospital Transfers
As healthcare networks have grown, so have interhospital transfers (IHTs). The IHT SIG is a place for hospitalists who share an interest in IHT to connect and discuss best practices and common challenges related to IHTs. The IHT SIG also encourages collaborate innovation among different institutions to improve the safety, efficiency, and experience of IHTs.

The group includes a cadre of physician expertise from payers to clinicians providing thoughtful discussion on defining ‘quality,’ whilst generating ideas for delivering high-value healthcare to the population.
