Overview
In the support of the Society of Hospital Medicine’s (SHM's) mission and commitment to nurturing the growth of a vibrant hospitalist workforce and community and eliminating health disparities for hospitalized patients across the country, we proudly announce SHM's Hospital Medicine Scholarship Fund made possible by its Keystone Sponsor, Vituity, and its Visionary Sponsor, Sound Physicians.
Scholarship Background
Hospital Medicine Scholarships for Students
SHM will provide two deserving third-year medical students each with a $25,000 medical education scholarship. SHM will award the scholarships to medical students interested in pursuing a career in hospital medicine who have articulated a commitment to practicing in an underserved community.
SHM’s objective in developing this scholarship fund is to support the next generation of hospitalists by identifying medical students who are economically disadvantaged. Additionally, we are seeking students who have demonstrated a commitment to health equity and improving care for underserved communities. We recognize that there is a critical opportunity to encourge the growth of a pipeline of physicians who will willingly support underserved communities given the projection of a significant need for physicians in many communities.
