Adfinitas Health Signs on as Society of Hospital Medicine’s First Institutional Partner

New Program Offers Customized Memberships for Select Hospital Medicine Management Companies and Health Systems with Large Hospitalist Groups 

Philadelphia, PA (March 7, 2018) – The Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM) recently announced that Adfinitas Health is the first organization to sign on as part of SHM’s new institutional partner program, offering customized memberships for select hospital medicine management companies and health systems with large hospitalist groups. Each institution will receive benefits specifically designed to meet its unique needs.

In 2017, SHM launched a "listening tour" to gain an understanding of strategic objectives of organizations that employ large numbers of hospitalists. Representatives from SHM met with existing members who are program directors, C-suite executives, multi-site group leaders and practice administrators to discover how SHM could help positively impact their staff and identified some common themes, including:

• Integrating nurse practitioners and physician assistants into their practices
• Growth and succession planning and incorporating SHM meetings, CME, and training into those plans
• Proving the value of the hospital medicine program to the C-suite

This resulted in SHM launching an institutional partner program, featuring partnerships that are structured over a two-year period. SHM staff will be in constant communication with each partner and serve as a concierge for their specific goals and objectives. Growing membership from these partnerships will also help with SHM’s efforts on Capitol Hill and the strength of the hospital medicine movement overall.
